Opportunities for partnership and progress
During his two decades with North American Sports Camps (NASC), a $12 million sports education and equipment company serving 250,000 youth players and parents annually, Ian was responsible for creating and co-authoring curriculum and training programs for soccer, football, and golf, generating more than $1.5 million in revenue. As vice president of Development, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, and president, he forged joint-marketing partnerships between NASC and Major League Soccer, the NFL, Golden Bear International, the JCC’s of North America, the Boy Scouts, the Police Athletic League, US Indoor, the Sports Camps Federation, Alabama Parks & Recreation, and the American Youth Soccer Organization.
Opportunities to create, improve, and build
Ian is also the former associate vice president of Advancement and Athletics at Dominican University of California, where his responsibilities included managing a capital campaign to build a new outdoor sports complex. During his tenure with Dominican, he initiated the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame, increased athletic summer camp participation by 300%, and implemented several novel fundraising events.
Opportunities to invent and re-invent
In mid-2009, Ian saw a chance to transform his professional life and began to focus full-time on several business concepts which he had been developing over the years. At the heart of each of his businesses is the desire to give others the tools they need to be successful — whether by guiding their business to the next level, teaching effective coaching strategies, encouraging lifelong fitness, reclaiming and reinventing garage space, or instilling confidence in a creative concept or idea.
“My professional philosophy is informed by a desire to build relationships, discover and solve customer needs, and focus on meaningful goals and rewards. It brings me great satisfaction to know that my work has had a positive impact on others, and that I have helped my clients find the right structure in which to perform at their best.”
- Ian Tonks, Founder
A native of England, Ian holds a bachelor’s degree in sports science from the University of Northumbria and an MBA in strategic leadership from Dominican University of California. He resides in Novato, California with his wife and young daughter.
